The demister refers to a large amount of liquid entrained in the secondary steam during evaporation operation. Although it is separated in the separation chamber, in order to prevent loss of useful products or pollution of condensed liquid, it is also necessary to reduce the entrained liquid foam. Therefore, a demister is set near the steam outlet. There are many forms of demister, which can be directly installed on the top of the evaporator in the form of regular use, and installed outside the evaporator in the form of infrequent use.
When the gas with mist rises through the wire mesh at a certain speed, due to the inertial effect of mist rising, the mist collides with the fine wire of the wire mesh and is attached to the surface of the fine wire. The diffusion of the mist on the surface of the filament and the gravitational sedimentation of the mist make the mist form larger droplets that flow along the filament to the junction of the two filaments. The wettability of the filament, the surface tension of the liquid and the capillary action of the filament make the liquid drop larger and larger, until the accumulated liquid drop is so large that the gravity generated by itself exceeds the combined force of the gas lift force and the liquid surface tension, the liquid drop will fall from the filament. After the gas passes through the wire mesh demister, there is basically no mist. The mist in the gas is separated to improve the operating conditions, optimize the process indicators, reduce equipment corrosion, extend the service life of the equipment, increase the processing capacity and recover valuable materials, protect the environment, reduce air pollution, etc. The structure is simple, the volume is small, the demister efficiency is high, the resistance is small, the weight is light, and the installation, operation and maintenance are convenient. The wire mesh demister can capture 98% - 99.8% of the mist with the particle size ≥ 3~5um, while the pressure drop of the gas through the demister is very small, only 250-500Pa, which is conducive to improving the production efficiency of the equipment.
