The accumulator is an energy storage device in the hydraulic pneumatic system. It converts the energy in the system into compressed energy or potential energy at the appropriate time and stores it. When the system needs it, it also converts the compressed energy or potential energy into hydraulic or pneumatic energy and releases it to replenish the system. When the instantaneous pressure of the system increases, it can absorb this part of energy to ensure the normal pressure of the whole system.
Working principle of accumulator:
1)Use the compressibility of gas and the incompressibility of liquid to store and release liquid energy.
2)The skin sac acts as a diaphragm to separate gas and liquid.
3)The accumulator (leather bag) is filled with nitrogen.
4)When the liquid enters the accumulator, the gas is compressed, and the volume of the compressed gas is stored.
5)The stored fluid has hydraulic energy and can be released when necessary.

1)When the flow required by the load at low speed is less than the flow of the hydraulic pump, the excess flow of the hydraulic pump is stored in the accumulator. When the flow required by the load is greater than the flow of the hydraulic pump, the liquid is discharged from the accumulator to compensate for the insufficient flow of the hydraulic pump.
2)When the machine is stopped but still needs to maintain a certain pressure, the hydraulic pump can be stopped and the accumulator can compensate the leakage of the system to maintain the pressure of the system.
The accumulator can also be used to absorb the pressure pulsation of the hydraulic pump or the hydraulic shock pressure generated in the system. The pressure in the accumulator can be generated by compressed gas, heavy hammer or spring, and the accumulator can be divided into gas type, heavy hammer type and spring type. The direct contact between gas and liquid in the gas accumulator is called contact type. Its structure is simple and its capacity is large, but the liquid is easy to be mixed with gas. It is often used in hydraulic compressors. The gas that does not contact with the liquid is called the isolation type. It is often isolated by the skin bag and the diaphragm.
